TOGETHER FOR SAFER ROADS WELCOMES GENERAL MOTORS AS NEWEST COALITION MEMBER
GM Joins 14 global private sector companies dedicated to reducing road injuries and deaths

(Washington, DC) ? Together for Safer Roads (TSR), a coalition of global private sector companies working together to improve road safety, welcomes General Motors (GM) as its newest member and the first automotive manufacturer to join the coalition. GM will contribute its knowledge of vehicle operability, tested safety technology, and community advocacy strategy to TSR to make vehicles safer on the roads. GM joins 14 other member companies working collaboratively to help reach the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety?s goal ? reduce road injuries and deaths by 50 percent by the year 2020.

Formally launched in 2014, TSR engages road users, governments, policymakers, and other stakeholders to create a measurable and sustainable impact in road safety through results-driven initiatives. TSR leverages the expertise of its member companies to address strategic road safety challenges and collaborate with the broader road safety community to be the foremost voice for the private sector.
