REPUBLIC SERVICES AND UPS JOIN GLOBAL ROAD SAFETY CAUSE AS NEWEST MEMBERS OF TOGETHER FOR SAFER ROADS

Together for Safer Roads (TSR), a coalition of global private sector companies working together to improve road safety, welcomes two new members ? Republic Services and UPS. They join 11 other member companies working collaboratively to help reduce road injuries and deaths by 50 percent by the year 2020 ? a goal set by the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety

Based in Phoenix, Republic Services is a recycling and non-hazardous solid waste services company that employs 31,000 people and operates a fleet of 15,000 vehicles in the United States. Road safety and the safety of its drivers is the company?s top priority, and has led to the creation of some of the most robust employee training programs and safety protocols in the country.
