Highline Beta Joins TSR GEP as Innovation Partner

Earlier this week we announced our third annual Global Entrepreneur Program (GEP) for early stage companies. In addition to access to capital, mentorship and resources to scale, startups chosen for our Cohort 3 will be granted membership status in our global road safety coalition, comprised of organizations such as AB InBev, AIG, AT&T, CalAmp, Republic Services and many other innovative members. TSR member companies will act as Innovation Impact Board members, make final selections on the GEP Pitch Day, as well as provide mentorship and networking throughout the accelerator program.

There are several new components to this year?s GEP, including a funding aspect from Dreampact Ventures and a specific focus on the following three areas:

– Intelligent Transportation Services

– Commercial Transportation Safety

– People-First Transportation Solutions

The deadline for innovative transportation startups to apply is September 30. Our pitch day for accepted applicants will be in mid December at Silicon Valley Bank?s San Francisco office and we are really grateful to both of these companies for their involvement and sponsorship of the 2020 program as Innovation Partners.

Highline Beta Joins TSR GEP as Innovation Partner

We?re also excited to announce that Highline Beta, a kindred venture studio development firm, has recently joined the GEP as an Innovation Partner.

Highline Beta is running an accelerator program for startups, Safe × Connected Cities Accelerator, focused on safe and connected cities, with the first challenge focused on safer roads. Specifically, they are looking for startups that can help tackle mobility and road safety challenges and potentially pilot and scale the technology through a commercial deal. Highline Beta invites innovative startups in verticals such as IoT, urban mobility, and the connectivity space to join them on a mission to test and implement solutions that can make cities safer and more connected, one block at a time.

We find that Highline?s program is complementary to our own mission to bend the curve on road traffic collisions so they are no longer one of the leading causes of death and injuries worldwide. Together, we will work to identify and connect with startup applicants that could benefit from both programs.

If you?ve been following TSR, you know that we, too, have many programs focused on safer cities across the U.S. in areas like Houston and New York. The vision to improve road safety does not only involve vehicles and drivers, it also involves mobility, city infrastructures and every road user, including the most vulnerable like bicyclists and pedestrians.
