REPORT: Improving Global Road Safety ? Corporate Sector Commitments & Opportunities

Road safety has been recognized as an increasing public health burden that disproportionately affects low- and middle-income countries. In response, in 2010 the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety to reduce the projected deaths from road traffic crashes by 50 percent by 2020.

Some of Together for Safer Roads? member companies collaborated to examine how the private sector can contribute to this goal by exploring the shared knowledge, experience, and expertise of companies who maintain global fleets and highlighting some examples of road safety best practices.
