INITIATIVE: Vision Zero Technology Fund

A first-of-its-kind grantmaking program to help purpose-based organizations build data-driven fleet safety cultures, the Vision Zero Technology Fund (VZTF) underwrites fleets’ adoption of lifesaving vehicle technologies like telematics, backup and side view cameras, collision avoidance systems, side guards, and more.

City Harvest, NYC’s largest food rescue organization, was the winner of the first grant cycle in 2021. Between July 2020 and June 2021, they rescued and delivered more than 154 million pounds of fresh, nutritious food—an 88% increase over the year prior. They served millions of visitors through their network of 400 community food programs while maintaining their focus on delivering food as safely and efficiently as possible. Our Vision Zero Technology Fund allowed their fleet operators to reach these milestones.

Rosev Dairy, a provider of dairy products to many different organizations including 40 different school districts in the Greater Boston area, was the recipient of 2021’s second grant cycle. The grant allowed them to add side guards to prevent kids and others from accidentally sliding underneath their trucks.
