Let’s Drive Change

Through results-driven initiatives, Together for Safer Roads focuses on three project areas to create a sustainable impact on road safety.

Local Demonstration Projects

The private sector brings a range of perspectives, expertise, and people’s energy. By working closely with local leadership, the private sector can contribute its unique assets to diagnose road safety challenges and deliver measurable solutions.

Through the Safer Roads Challenge, Together for Safer Roads shares members’ knowledge, data, technology, and global networks to understand localized road safety root causes and inform strategic interventions.

Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Through a Together for Safer Roads and City of Atlanta partnership, information was collected and analyzed by combining both public and private datasets to create a dashboard with analytical indices to estimate crash risk levels based on weather, traffic, events, and other risk indicators.

São Paulo, Brazil

Through concerted action and collaboration, Together for Safer Roads and the State of São Paulo are reducing the state’s crash fatalities. Together, a data system and action plans for road infrastructure, education, and supervision are being implemented to support cities across the state to reduce deaths and injuries.

Shanghai, China

Together for Safer Roads established a collaboration mechanism between academia, government, private sector, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), supported by media and a celebrity ambassador, to enhance the safety of Shanghai’s transport. Together, crash hotspot roadway segments and behavior-based commercial driver safety is being analyzed and improved.
