WASHINGTON D.C. ? Lyft, a global leader in economic and social mobility, has joined Together for Safer Roads (TSR), an innovative coalition bringing together the private sector?s capacity and technical expertise to expand the resources it takes for safer transportation systems. Lyft joins a prestigious group of corporate members including AB InBev, AIG, AT&T, Republic Services, CalAmp, Ericsson, Geotab, GM, iHeartMedia, Octo Telematics, PepsiCo, UPS, Walmart, Alpha Drive, HAAS Alert, Ouster, and Zendrive.
As a trailblazer in on-demand transportation, Lyft is committed to designing trust into every part of its business, from a dedicated Trust & Safety team to 24/7 Critical Response Line to partnerships with cities and organizations to offer responsible rides with its Ride Smart program and more. Additionally, through its recent acquisition of Motivate, the largest bikeshare operator in North America, Lyft is collaborating with cities to reduce car ownership and revolutionize urban transportation.
?We?re excited to partner with TSR, its members, and partners to help protect our community, whether they are walking, cycling, scooting, or driving,? said Kate Sampson, VP of Risk Solutions at Lyft. ?Together, we will accelerate more responsible options of mobility and transportation for everyone.?
As a TSR member, Lyft will support the development of sustainable capabilities and capacity that improve road safety initiatives with private sector expertise. For example, through TSR?s Safer Roads Challenge, Lyft will have opportunities to contribute data, technology, and solutions to understand local road safety root causes and inform evidence-based interventions.
?Whether it’s keeping their drivers safe or ensuring local communities have the safest mobility options, Lyft is helping reach our collective vision of zero deaths on the world?s roads,? said David Braunstein, President of TSR. ?By joining TSR, we look forward to tapping into and combining Lyft?s expertise with our other members and partners to save millions of lives?our friends, family members, and colleagues.?
