Let’s Drive Change

Through results-driven initiatives, Together for Safer Roads focuses on four program areas to create a sustainable impact on road safety.

Advocacy and Thought Leadership

The private sector’s innovative spirit, creative thinking, and nimbleness has the potential to accelerate road safety and develop sustainable solutions.

Together for Safer Roads is dedicated to making it an imperative for all companies to invest in road safety through evidence-based policies, which utilize data-driven decision making and intelligent emerging technologies. Together for Safer Roads supports:

  • Safer Companies and Fleets
  • Safer Cities
  • Safer Intelligent Technologies
  • Safer Behaviors

With the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety, the private sector has an opportunity to drive a groundswell of meaningful cross-sector action. Companies can help save millions of lives, strengthen communities in which they do business, help build resilient economies, and in the process, improve their operations and long-term prospects.

Together for Safer Roads’ Expert Panel assessed progress since the United Nations General Assembly established the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety in 2010, identified gaps, and discussed the role of the private sector in advancing road safety.

Some of Together for Safer Roads’ member companies collaborated to examine how the private sector can contribute to this goal by exploring the shared knowledge, experience, and expertise of companies who maintain global fleets and highlighting some examples of road safety best practices.
